One Banana Two Banana Three Banana Four

Y'know, every once in a while I hate being right. Answer B did indeed have far greater propaganda value in Basra, look even the police are protesting against British troops involvement in the area now. Maybe the story the British government is telling is true, maybe it isn't, that is almost irrelevant. The men who went on this mission surely understood the risks involved, and as soldiers its kinda their job to die for the political ends of politicians (which I realise is a harsh way of looking at it, but then show me another way to look at it that's more accurate)... although, suddenly smelling a conspiracy maybe this IS for the end of politicians. Think for a second: the British press is all over the 'rescue' of these great British 'heroes' (a term I think is bandied about far too easily these days, what exactly about doing their job, and rather badly, qualifies these men to be heroes I wonder?), its been all that the media have talked about for the past few days, popular public opinion has been to get the troops out for some time and now the Iraqis are saying that they want us out... As if by magic an exit strategy appeared. Or am I being too cynical?
In other news: Kate Moss (allegedly) takes cocaine. Big deal. However for some reason this is being a massive story, brands are dropping her left right and centre (including Burberry. I mean what the fuck? Is that because their target market can't actually afford it and just prefer to get wasted on cheap cider?) and the Metropolitan police are apparently investigating. Well, as a survey last week revealed that about 49,000 Londoners use coke on a regular basis I hope they'll all get the same vigorous policing attention, and that this isn't some bizarre media led witch hunt. What? Oh it is? Sorry, that should've read "they obviously won't get the same attention as this is clearly a media led witch hunt". Surely the Met have more important things to do then harass some poor girl whose life is falling apart?
Bonus points to anybody who spots the Mister Benn reference.
