Fatman and Robbin'

Okay the whole Basra thing is looking a little clearer. It is widely accepted (whether its true or not is another matter) that the Iraqi police service has been "infiltrated" by insurgents, and so it was deemed appropriate to rescue the two British soldiers who'd managed to get themselves caught after a firefight with the locals. Still you have to wonder. Being captured was a clear and obvious danger in taking this mission, so the question becomes, what's worth more as propaganda? Two dead British soldiers, or the army steaming in and taking out the cops. From where I'm sitting, answer B seems to have far more propaganda value for the insurgents, and guess what, we obligingly went and gave them exactly what they want. Good work.
Hmmm so it's a lovely lookin day here, and I expect its crisp without being cold, basically all the good things about September weather - but I can't think of a single reason to go outside. I mean seriously, what would I do out there other than spend money? I'm trying to lay off that for a while (well, till about a week Friday, when it's my birthday), and I'm sure even I can manage not to spend a significant amount of cash for nine days. Although I'm prepared to be surprised.
Bah. What the hell am I gonna do with the day? It's comin' to something when havin' a full, beautiful day ahead of you is a problem isn't it? Good god I need a new job, I'm so bored!
