Down With The Sickness!

I've been off work sick for the past couple of days, although I have reluctantly (and perhaps foolishly) agreed to go back tomorrow. Ever since I've had this problem with my ears I don't seem to be able to stay healthy for more than a couple of weeks at a time, which is a real pain in the arse. I don't think this job helps either with the long and unsociable hours meaning I'm always up early and out for long days, never getting a chance to rest properly or even eat properly, let alone exercise! As I said, I'm going back to work tomorrow, but I remain unconvinced of the wiseness of that course of action. On the other hand, I couldn't see my way clear to giving up another fifty odd quid off my pay next week either, so work it is!
I've mainly slept (or watched movies; I saw Hotrod the other day which struck me as the funniest thing I've seen in ages! I also have a strong desire to watch Close Encounters again, although I can't imagine when that'll get slotted in). I've also seen a few demos of new(-ish) PC games, which has been fun. First up and to my mind easiest dismissed is Unreal Tournament 3 which all seemed to be going quite brilliantly until I tried the mangled train wreck of a game mode which is Vehicle CTF. Having been stuck in one game for nearly an hour with no score and no possible hope of same, I just uninstalled it and went back to playing UT2004; at least they got that one right! The other thing I've tried is the demo for Hellgate: London, by the guys who made Diablo and then left Blizzard. And, much as it pains me to say it, on the strength of the demo, it appears to be Diablo, but in 3D! I've enjoyed the restrictive demo immensely and can't wait to have what little of my time is available sucked into this game! It's an almost infinitely more dated game than UT3 (it has random levels! It doesn't have all that post processing nonsense that makes it look like you've smeared your monitor in vaseline!), despite having only just come out, but it FEELS just like playing Diablo II and that can't be a bad thing, can it?
Don't think there's much else to say; life continues unabated regardless of our best efforts. I did have a dream of Domino, our first cat, last night though. I was sleeping on a sofa under a window, and it was all sunny and hot and so she climbed onto the sill and in her cat-like way tried to open the curtains to keep me warm. Which was odd, because that's a thing that Domino would never have done, but it was also really nice to see her again, if that makes any sense.
I hope the driving goes okay tomorrow, it worries me having to drive when I feel like this; it really does.
