Remember how I earlier said that I enjoyed the H2G2 movie? Well I just read a VERY good, and amazingly negative review of the movie, which gives voice to a lot of the concerns that I have (particularly that all the clever dialogue, y'know the thing that actually made this stuff funny in the first place, has been butchered to the point of incomprehensibility) and also goes to great lengths to rip apart whatever story logic may have been in there (which to say isn't a lot). I pretty much agree with almost everything that the reviewer has to say to be honest, and for all that it is a fairly piss-weak version of the Guide I STILL got enjoyment from it cos it made me remember how much I LOVE that stuff. Yes the movie is a missed opportunity, but somehow I still enjoyed it. I guess if all the movie does it makes the fans go home and listen to the radio show, watch the TV show, or Zarquon help them, read the books, then all is well and good. For all the non-fans though, there is so much more than this movie, and you should go explore it immediately!
